B'Bye to - Jupiter in Libra: 9/9/16 - 10/10/17
Jupiter spends about a year in each sign, which gives us an annual paradigm shift in the realms of belief, opportunity, expansion and our sense of the future. Jupiter's transit through Libra (9/9/16 - 10/10/17) was a year of social and relational leaps, including expanding our role in society, expanding our relationships and experience of community, and growing our interest in justice and beauty.
Hello to - Jupiter in Scorpio: 10/10/17 - 11/8/18
At 6:20a PDT on October 10th, 2017, Jupiter entered Scorpio (10/10/17 - 11/8/18). And thus the volume on the "deep and intense" nob turned way up, kicking this theme into gear:
The only way out is through.
Exploring the Underworld
Scorpio is the territory of the planet, Pluto, named after the god of the Underworld. Pluto guards our buried treasures, and invites us to dig for the riches within us that are hard to find - riches that are often guarded by that which is difficult to look at, such as shame, guilt, fear, and resentment. Pluto also highlights the interplay of power and the processes of death and rebirth. This means that Jupiter, the buoyant sky-god of the thunderbolt, is exploring the deep, dark caves of Pluto's Underworld.
Expect flashes of illumination and integration in those dark forgotten corners of your being.
Better yet, invite them:
Now's a good time to work with a therapist, or to explore your psyche through journaling, improvised art forms, oracles (tarot, astrology, rhunes, the I Ching, etc), or meditation.
the Scorpion & the Eagle
Scorpio, the low-to-the-ground, creepy-crawly, desert-dwelling, stinging scorpion...
The story of Scorpio does not end with the scorpion. Scorpio is also associated with the eagle, especially in its expression of renewal and piercing vision. The eagle is your guide for Jupiter's year in Scorpio.
Develop your vision so that it pierces through the confusions and concatenations of daily life and its dramas.
Remember that life is finite. You, me, everyone you know, the Earth, and even the sun will one day cease to exist, at least in our current forms. This is not a morbid thought. It is a reminder of the preciousness of what is, and it clarifies exactly who and what is precious to you. In this year of Jupiter in Scorpio...
put your energy, faith and conviction into what's precious.
